Introducing Solid Food

Weaning your baby

What is weaning?

Weaning is when you start to introduce your baby to solid foods. It is recommended that you start to wean your baby at around 6 months old. Your baby should be introduced to a varied diet, alongside their usual breast milk or first infant formula.

This Start4Life guide provides expert NHS advice, helpful videos, tips from other parents, and lots of simple, healthy weaning recipe and meal ideas.
