Health visitors

You should have already met your health visitor during your pregnancy and will see them again within 14 days of your baby’s birth.

During your baby’s first year you will also meet with your health visitor when your baby is between 6-8 weeks and 9-12 months old.

When you take your baby to the Well Baby Clinic the health visitors will be on hand and can provide information and advice about the following:

  • Stopping smoking
  • Diet and exercise
  • General family health and minor illnesses
  • Sleep problems
  • Feeding, weaning and dental health.
  • Offer support on topics such as post-natal depression
  • Well baby clinics that offer support on your babies’ health and weight.
