You may able to enlist family, friends or neighbours to do a shop or pick up prescriptions for you.  Some supermarkets offer online shopping and home deliveries. Some pharmacies deliver to you as well.

Services:
  • Pleased to Meet You Programme – If you are over 60 then you can use Dudley Council’s Pleased to Meet You support service. (Or younger with a specific need i.e. physical and/or sensory disability, dementia or learning disability). Contact them on 01384 812761 Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm.  They can provide help with arranging grocery shopping or medicine supplies. They also offer a time to talk services to help if you are feeling lonely or isolated
  • The Beacon Centre befriending project. This is a befriending service for older people in Dudley.  It is a scheme to help reduce loneliness and isolation for those living in Dudley borough. The service offers befriending support in various ways. Each person is matched to a regular volunteer. They call as often as agreed. You must live within the Dudley borough or have a Dudley GP and must be over the age of 65. To refer into the program call 01902 880111 or email: referrals@beaconvision.org
  • Support or advice from Adult Social Care services. Contact 0300 555 0055 Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, 0300 555 8574 at all other times
