Dudley’s Community Toothbrush Scheme
After a successful pilot scheme in 2023, Dudley’s Community Toothbrush Scheme has been relaunched in 2024/2025, providing free toothbrush packs to children and families in need in Dudley borough.
In 2024/2025 the scheme has launched in the following settings:
- Primary schools and Early Years settings in the most deprived areas of the borough, with the highest tooth decay rates
- All 5 Family Hubs
- Community partners organisations ie libraries, foodbanks, religious places of worship
- 16 Community Pharmacies– for electively home educated children, children in care, asylum seekers and refugees
- SEND schools (Launching in 2025)
Dudley’s Community Toothbrush Scheme is helping to support families in taking care of their teeth from as soon as a child has their first tooth.
We have provided many organisations across the borough, including foodbanks, charities, warm spaces and religious places of worship, with free toothbrush packs to give to members of the community who are in need.
The packs include a toothbrush, fluoride toothpaste and an information postcard about the importance of oral health, especially for children.
Through Dudley’s Community Toothbrush Scheme, family hubs, libraries and many organisations across the borough have been provided with free toothbrush packs to give to residents. Please see the participating organisations here.
