Park active volunteer description
Do you have an interest in fitness and love the outdoors?
You don’t need to be super fit or have previous experience. If you are enthusiastic, a good communicator and are willing to lead sessions, we would love to hear from you in becoming a Park Active volunteer!
Park Active volunteer role
You will lead on delivering Park Active – free outdoor fitness sessions in parks. Sessions are suitable for different ages and fitness levels. Training required is a two day fitness course and a one day first aid course. New volunteers are supported by an experienced volunteer to help develop your skills and confidence.
Park Active gives volunteers the opportunity to:
- Meet new people and make new friends
- Give something back to the community
- Gain experience, confidence and new skills
- Find a pathway into employment opportunities
As a volunteer you will receive:
- Free training including first aid, safeguarding & fitness qualifications
- Free badged kit including high vis vest and t-shirt
- Support from other volunteers and staff
- A reference after 35 hours completed
Please note:
- Attendance at one Park Active session minimum is required before being accepted for the training course
- Volunteers should be able to commit to deliver or support at least one session per month
- Applications to become a Park Active volunteer can only be accepted for residents of Dudley borough
