Volunteer for park active

Park active volunteer description

Do you have an interest in fitness and love the outdoors?

You don’t need to be super fit or have previous experience. If you are enthusiastic, a good communicator and are willing to lead sessions, we would love to hear from you in becoming a Park Active volunteer!

Listen to a park active volunteers experience!

Park Active volunteer role

You will lead on delivering Park Active –  free outdoor fitness sessions in parks. Sessions are suitable for different ages and fitness levels. Training required is a two day fitness course and a one day first aid course. New volunteers are supported by an experienced volunteer to help develop your skills and confidence. The expectation is for our volunteers to deliver or support at least one session a month. We recommend joining in a Park Active session before signing up to volunteer.

Park Active gives volunteers the opportunity to:

  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • Give something back to the community
  • Gain experience, confidence and new skills
  • Find a pathway into employment opportunities

As a volunteer you will receive:

  • Free training including first aid, safeguarding & fitness qualifications
  • Free badged kit including high vis vest and t-shirt
  • Support from other volunteers and staff
  • A reference after 35 hours completed
